Feb 4, 2011 - Gulf Breeze Massage E-Blast
Pete and I worked together to design a Valentines Day E-blast today and
emailed it out to all his massage clients. The message has a twist -
just something out of the ordinary to keep things fresh:
She'd LIKE flowers & chocolate ...
but she'd LOVE a massage.

Feb 4, 2011 - Icy Day on North Beach
Schools were closed today and yesterday due to the winter weather that coated the Coastal Bend in ice,
so I went out exploring the beach with my family and took some photos to show what Jack Frost had accomplished over night.
It was fun watching it through the eyes of my five-year-old son who has
never seen ice in his front yard.

Jan 23, 2011 - Gulf Breeze Massage E-Blast
Pete Meyer and I created a tongue-in-cheek email advertisement today to send
out to clients of his company,
Gulf Breeze Massage. For the comic book
style ad, I shot of photo of Pete in a super hero mask against a white
backdrop, then added "POW"
and "ZAP" graphics, along with the message "Feeling Tense? Pete to the
Rescue!"

January 17, 2011 -
MLK Birthday Celebration
I marched with hundreds of Corpus Christi residents today, unified by a
common belief in the teachings of Martin Luther King. We gathered at the
courthouse where the Mayor spoke, then marched up Tancahua to a church
where we sang and commemorated MLK on his birthday.

January 16, 2011 - Ann Smith's Birthday
I had the privilege of photographing the 80th Birthday Party of Ann
Smith. During my 10 years in Corpus, I have crossed paths with Ann at
peace marches, Democratic Party events and anti-Las Brisas rallies.
Today, I enjoyed meeting more of her amazing family and friends.

January 7-8, 2011 - Challenges To Sharing and Conserving Our Bays workshop
I represented
CC Windsurfing Association and shot photos at the "Challenges To Sharing and
Conserving Our Bays" workshop organized by
Costal Bays Bend Foundation
and held at the
Harte Research Institute. The event brought bay users of
all kinds together to discuss best practices and to recommend to
government regulators ideas for protecting resources.

January 6, 2011 -
Cruise Ship Rally
Shot photos at the Cruise Ship Legislation Rally at the USS Lexington on
Corpus Christi Beach today where Texas State Rep Todd Hunter spoke about
the bill he is introducing in the Texas State House of Representatives
to fund a study to bring a new cruise ship terminal to the Texas coast,
possibly to Corpus Christi.

GMF's bi-monthly e-newsletter, sending it out via email to more than 700

Dec 6, 2010 - CVB's Certified Wildlife Guide
The CC Convention & Visitors Bureau hired me to shoot photos
today at a ceremony recognizing the first 34 guides to
complete the CVB's new wildlife certification program. The Corpus CVB is one,
if not the
first, visitors centers in Texas to offer a certification program, in
which guides complete a series of courses to learn wildlife
identification and best practices.

Just sent out a holiday email advertisement I created for
Gulf Breeze
Massage. I pasted the ad into an email and sent it out to all his

Carrie shot the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation's Conservation &
Environmental Awards Banquet tonight. It's an annual event that
recognizes outstanding individuals who dedicate their lives to
conservation of our natural resources, something that Third Coast really
believes in.

Party for the Party
Check out my photos on FaceBook from the Oct 16 "Party for the Party"
Democratic rally at Cole Park where candidates spoke and constituents
enjoyed free prizes, snow cones and a bouncy tent. The candidates even
entertained the crowd by dancing Zumba with an instructor on stage.

Oct 5, 2010 - National Night Out - North Beach
Pete and Kai and I joined our neighbors in commemorating National Night
Out at the local playground down the street, Dolphin Park, where we
grilled hamburgers and visited with police officers about local issues
and a new program called Citizen Observer that helps residents to get
current crime information.

I volunteered in the Corpus Christi Windsurfing Association's Discover
Windsurfing Day on Padre Island today. It's an annual event that teaches
free beginner windsurfing lessons. Then I added some photos I shot to CCWA's website.

Sept 9, 2010 - Barkaritaville
Shot photos for the website of Barkaritaville Pet Resort
on the south side of Corpus
Christi today. I started by shooting exteriors of the building with a
beautiful blue sky behind it,
then moved inside and shot photos of the facility and some really cute dogs!
Those pets seemed to be really enjoying their vacation at Barkaritaville.

Sept 5, 2010 - Port Aransas
Shot portraits a beautiful young mother with a pair of very spirited
little twin girls on the beach in Port A this evening. Wow ~ non stop
action! It soon became evident that the active three year olds were not
interested in posing for shots, so I changed gears and shot candids of them playing with
their mom on the beach. To get the shots, I drew from my days of shooting pro basketball
for newspapers, which taught me to follow a moving target!

Shot portraits of a beautiful family on North Beach late in the day with
very nice lighting.
Second family this month that chose turquoise outfits - I like it! Most
people wear white shirts, which has a tendency to wash out the faces.
Got to use a new Adirondack chair I just refinished as a prop with thier
precious little blonde girls.

Aug 9, 2010 - North Beach
My family and I installed
113 wooden bollards in the area that Third Coast Photo & Web adopted near
our studio on North Beach in Corpus Christi. The bollards keep cars from illegally driving onto the
beach. Partners in the project were the Corpus Christi Beach Association, Halliburton, Armstrong Lumber and Corpus Christi's
Adopt-A-Beach program.
